My Little Diva

Yes, this is my little Diva!! I thought keeping a hat on her head was difficult getting her to keep her sunglasses on is worse. It lasts about 30 seconds and then right to the mouth. The arms of the glasses seem fun to chew on.

Here Oma was able to get them on TOP of her head. Oma and Opa were down for Mother's Day. The girls made OMA a stepping stone with their hand print on it, and their name. It was dated with 2007. When Madison was done with her hand impression she decided licking the cement was a good way to get her hands cleaned (yeah, we rushed her to the sink to clean her up).

And, yes i did get my pink mary jane crocs and I love them. Comfy, soft, and you don't sweat in them barefoot. I also got 5 cards (3 made by the girls) and 3 Hosta plants for my garden which I was really excited about. I know boring for some but I have been working on it for a few years. When we first moved here the weeds were up to my waist now its looking GOOD!! Maybe next blog I will put a picture of my garden on my blog. We also went to Denny's for breakfast and met two other babies (turning 1 in a few days) and Madison had more teeth, hair, and was taller than both of them. One of the Mom's said "With a smile like that she is going to get away with anything - She's a mischievous one!" How about inquisitive, defiant, stubborn (that's mine and Randy's fault we are both VERY stubborn we knew this was going to happen.) but happy, beautiful, and nosy like her Mom!

Daddy and Madi time!

Madison loves when we get on the floor with her and play with her. She loves her new colored tower of interlocking cups. She also really loves to try and get to the lap top and when Mommy uses her authorative voice to tell her stop or no - she just looks at me smiles and laughs at me. Oh, is she going to be a tough one!

Madison now has her 6th tooth and she is starting to eat more foods that require chewing and using those lovely pearly whites. She has tried watermelon and Kraft dinner she seemed to enjoy sucking air through the noodles, it was quite funny.

Open up Daddy!

Of Course Baxter has to be near all the action. When I call Madison to come (to follow into the bathroom or out of the kitchen) Baxter thinks I am calling him and he comes over. Funny he never would come over when I called him before - all of a sudden he is obedient. He gets a little jealous but he is so good with her. He just lays there while she pokes and pulls him. He is such a good "family" dog (however the shedding of hair is driving me NUTS!)

This picture (above) of Madison is her sucking on hotdogs on the floor. I went to get out hotdogs and they slipped out of my hands (cause I am clutz). Madison managed to crawl as fast as she could and laid down and started sucking on the cold hotdogs (she was cutting her 6th tooth). This cracked me up so much I had to put it in the blog.

April 21st – She turned the cold water tap on in the bathtub
April 22nd – Stood unassisted and first trip to the park
April 24th – Cut top right tooth and played ball with Mommy throwing it back and forth
April 26th – Tried cow’s milk
April 27th – Clapped her hands (Mommy has been teaching her patty cake)
April 29th – First time on Mommy’s bike and in dolphin swing in her backyard
May 2nd – Shared a banana with Mommy
May 3rd – First time needed sunscreen
May 6th – First time at a restaurant (Denny’s), Mommy & Daddy haven’t been to a restaurant together since before she was born. First time at Reid’s Dairy to see the animals
May 7th – Saw her first plane (3 actually)

May 8th - Stepped barefoot on the grass but she would only step with one foot at a time, and she got a very slight sunburn on her left arm (Mommy forgot sunscreen or didn't think it was needed for 15 minutes)

May 9th - Climbed up the basement stairs (twice) all by herself and took ONE STEP unassisted then she fell but Mommy's loving arms caught her before she hit the ground.

It took a few times in the dolphin swing to get her to relax. Now she talks and gets excited whenever she sees her swing. She now holds onto the rope and kicks her feet and squeals in delight. She is so much fun to watch. She even holds one front rope and one back rope, she is such a daredevil.

Mommy took Madison to Reid’s Dairy Ice Cream Shop where they have a small area with ducks, goats, rabbits, turtles, and fish. She seemed at first to enjoy it then the goat with the black head came by and made her cry. Mommy picked her up to reassure her and then we walked around the fenced pond area and came back and then she was looking for the goats wanting to see them. We went the next day again to see the goats and she cried again when the black headed goat came close. A few more trips and hopefully she will enjoy visiting the goats. It’s nice to finally have some warm weather so we can get outside and enjoy the sights.

Does a girl at 10 months really needs this many shoes? I think she has more than her Mommy and she has a pair of crocs and Mommy really wants a pair (she's keeping her fingers crossed for Mother's Day!! Pink Mary Jane size 10 wink wink to Daddy). When Madison stepped on grass for the very first time she would only put one foot down and use the other to feel the grass and touch it ever so lightly. She has ticklish feet so I am not sure if she didn't like the feel because it either tickled her or pricked her feet but it was a hoot to watch her.

Madison definitely understands what Mommy says to her; when I say to her "Where's Daddy?" she looks right at Randy. When I say "Where's Baxter?" she crawls to the side of our bed and looks for him on his dog bed. When I say "No" to touching the lap top or taking my baking sheets out from being tucked beside the water cooler she cries. I can't believe how much she understands when all I hear is "Bla bla bla" which I think means - I love you Mommy you are the best!! Boy, does she say bla bla bla often.... he he he.

These days she is eating Multigrain Cheerios, she likes to share them with Mommy and feed them to me. Its so cute. She is really liking milk but still gets her nursing in, (not quite as much), but she isn't eating as much and she doesn't like food with a chunkier consistancy yet. She still loves avocados and enjoys yogurt. She likes to take walks in her stroller and snack on treats in her cup holder, she drops more than she eats on her way. If I was Hanzel and Gretel I know I could find my way home by following her droppings.

Time is flying by these days, I am trying to absorb every moment with her. She is such a joy and special little girl - I love these days with her. Thank goodness the first 6 months have passed, Daddy and I thought about throwing ourselves out the window a few times.

Bring on the Warm Weather

Finally some nice weather to enjoy our backyard play structure or off to the park. Madison has been busy, she cut her fifth tooth, she is clapping (Mommy is teaching her patty cake) and she is standing unassisted for brief periods.....Oh the milestones before I know it she will be running down the street from me. As I use to do from my mother when I was a child.


Madison's first swing was at the park she didn't like it much, she started to whimper a bit but she soon started to relax, but I am not sure if she truly enjoyed it. Then we tried it in our backyard in her dolphin swing but she didn't like it the first time either but we have been going in a couple of times a day and now she yells and hollers in it and even tries to talk to the dog.

When we have breakfast (or any meal actually) she can see her swing from her chair and she talks to it, I think what she is saying is "please Mommy take me outside to my swing".



Daddy and Mommy went to a park in Belleville, which is amazing when she gets bigger, its a big pirate ship. Its fairly new and the best part is, there is no sand. It has a rubber floor so we don't have to worry about getting sand in our shoes. Yippee!! I think Madison like the slide best.

We think Madison might go in to the veterinarian field, here in this picture (below) she is checking out to see if Baxter's ears are okay. Of course, Baxter just wants any type of attention, he doesn't care what she pokes or prods!!

Sorry for the delay!! I can't help it these days, Madison is keeping us hopping!!
