Big Girl

It's time for Potty training and Madi is fashioning her "big girl" undies. Okay so it didn't go so well but its a small step in the right direction. It made me so sad to see her in big girl undies because she is growing up way to fast on me. I love watching her grow and change but seeing her in undies was breaking my heart - where did the time go? Wasn't I just pregnant with her? And soon she will be TWO!!! Oh boy - Motherhood is rewarding but sad all at the same time.

I love that smile - I love everything about her even when she bosses me around and kicks me off my chair.
Showing off her big girl undies for the camera.

Above - Front view
Below - Back view of her cute little butt!!

Here is Madi hanging off her crib she has done this since she was able to walk - telling us she wants to go to bed. She loves her bed - its her safe place.

Playing with big sister Dani (in the background) and little people train station, which belongs to Dani and is a little old for it but doesn't mind playing with it with Madison. Madison is more interested in showing Mommy the ball she found (still loves balls to this day).

(Below) Getting ready for picture day. She was very disagreeable getting dressed and that continued on to the pictures. She wanted no part of the dresses and I am praying Jenna from About Image Photography got at least 5 good ones but it was tough trying to get her to sit still.

Playtime with chalk!

Daddy and Madi drawing on the sidewalk.

Trying to get Madi to stand by her name for the photo - Did I mention she was argumentative today? Why bother!!

She is at her name but won't look at the camera, I guess its better than nothing.

ALMOST!! Maybe next time.

Sorry for any typos - too tired to check for any errors. Thanks for visiting my life with Madison, my precious little girl.

Homemade Chocolate wrappers!!

Yes thats right - I am nuts or a little obsessive compulsive
More of the ladybug theme but this time these are the chocolate bars that the kids will get in their loots bags and adults to take home. I am having such a ball with this.

This is the front (sorry not back photo yet) - For some reason it wouldn't work the flash would block out the words.

Here is the stack of Aero bars!!

Fun Fun Fun

Madi's Hang Out Spot

Yes that's right, Madi's favorite hang out spot is Linda and Michael's house. Linda always has something intersting and fun for her to do. This time it was watering the flowers. If you are a follower of the blog you will know Madi hates getting dirty, and is quite the fuss pot but surprisingly she had no problem spilling water all over her shorts, shoes, and socks.

There are photos of me (mommy) because Linda took these pictures (normally its always me behind the camera lens)

(Above) I asked Madi to smile for Linda and she put on her best smile face. She cracks Linda and I up - its so funny the things she does for example telling us where to stand on the lawn and yelling to us "Hi Guys!".

(Above) Here she is ordering me around - (Below) This picture confirms I need to lose 20 lbs. MOTIVATION (down 2 lbs, 18 to go)

Filling up the water saucer where the birds take a bath and drink from. Madi always checks t make sure Linda keeps the saucer topped up with water. Good thing Madi is around otherwise those birds would be dirty/thirsty birds.

Above - the before smile
Below - After asking for a smile

(Below) Trying to get water from the hose to fill up the watering cans.

(Below) After spraying myself, Linda, and Madi with the sprinkler accidentally (oops but I had turned off the water) Thank goodness the water missed Linda's good camera. My shirt is soaked.

My little cutie patootie

Isn't she a little helper?

And of course she was having SO much fun she didn't want to leave Linda's house. Oh the heartbreak!!

MADIBUG CUPCAKES

Well I am STILL baking - This time for Madison's friends at the sitters house. She will be there on her actual birthday so I thought I would continue the "ladybug' theme. They turned out better than I expected.

(Below) The ladybugs close up!!

sitting in a row waiting to be eaten by little kids

And of course it wouldn't be a blog entry unless there are photos of my Madi!! That is the whole purpose of this blog.

These were taken Wednesday June 25, 2008 at 7:00 am - bright early with the bunnies. We actually saw 2 bunnies this morning eating the clover then they ran away and Madi thought it was quite funny.

Hamming it up - She wouldn't let me stop taking pictures - She kept saying more more more

So there are more more more pictures of her (all the same)

Oh wait a picture of her showing her sippie cup!!

Close up of my beauty!!

At the neighbors

Here we are at the neighbors playing with Madi's new Lawn Mower Bubble blower.
She LOVES going over to visit Linda's house to either play ball, Thomas the train whistle, color with Go Diego Go crayons, or help her feed the wilflife Linda is attracting in her backyard. Which to date that I have seen are; Bunnies (babies and Mommy), blue jay, cardinals, brown-headed cow bird(?), chipmunks and many squirrels. She has quite sanctuary in her back yard.

I asked her to smile and pose in this picture - she is not pooping!!

Mommy and Madi stopping by for a quick visit on the bike. Madi does love the bike, her she is just relaxing being shy. We intend to bike a lot this summer - well with the price of gas and all and me needing to lose 20 lbs - I will let you know how the pounds are coming (or not).

Birthday Cake

I just had to show off my work of art - this is my first cake EVER (that was a design). Madi's 2nd Birthday party theme is Ladybug (Madibug) and I have been working on the plans and details now for over a month - I know a little obsessive compulsive (I have waited my whole life to be a mother and put on a party for my child and darn it I am going to go over board).
Here is the first stage of the cake and I asked what he thought (Why did I even bother) he said "It looks kinda gross!"

It was a lot work getting the icing to black and red and thank goodness Randy was there to stir (stupid me forgot to use the hand blender of course my friend Roxanne - cake maker - thought tha was pretty funny - I know NOW!!)
My arms hurt, Randy's arms hurt! But it was WORTH it.

My first CAKE!! Now it isn't completely done yet, there is still a slab cake to go underneath with grass but you will just have to tune in for her birthday photos to see the complete cake! I LOVE BEING A MOM!!

Not bad for my first cake and look at Baxter eye balling it. If I could put a thinking bubbles like in cartoons it would say "Please drop it, PLEASE!!"

Tadaa!! Madibug's cake.
Thanks for visiting.

Master Gardener

One of Madi's favorite past time is to help Mommy in the yard watering the flowers (and spraying Mommy) - She also likes to make sure Linda's backyard has peanuts for the bluejays and squirrels and water in the bird bath and don't think she forgets either!!

She learned quickly that she shouldn't point the nozzle and her face!!! Of course, I laughed, she cried we made a memory.

Sorry for the late blogging - my memory card was full and I have been busy planning her birthday party that I haven't had much time to do much else except chasing after Madison.

(Below) Madison pointing to a plane in the sky.

Thanks for visiting!!
