Bowmanville Zoo (attempt no.2)

Below is a picture of Madi before we headed out (I brushed her hair after the photo was taken) and you can see the lovely swollen eye from a mosquito the day before when we were at the waterfront feeding the ducks and walking to the park. Of course Madi got bit again at the zoo almost immediately and under the same spot. (picture to follow)

First we saw the parrots. I have no idea how they keep them in the area with just a little black iron decorate fence - even with their wings clipped they can walk around?? A mystery

Not sure what Madi is feeding below but it was cute, looked like a miniature deer.

Below - this cow was so gentle and fun to feed it unbelievable an animal of this size being as gentle as baby taking the food out of your hands.

THE GOATS - The little theiving buggers!!

Above - Yes this one jumped onto the stroller and took Madi's doughnut hole - traumatized forever!

I think he wanted us to push him around the zoo for the day.

We decided to stop and pet them to distract them from getting into the stroller. Of course they preferred then to try and eat Madi's diaper bag stored in the bottom of the stoller or try and eat the string hanging from the back.

They aren't shy. Below is the Baby goat that was so adorable I wanted to put him in the stroller, put a bonnet on him and pretend he was our kid (pardon the pun) and take home. I am sure we could off got away with it. Our lawn does needing mowing.

The reindeer that followed us up and down the fence line. He knew we had monkey chow with us.

Below - I love this picture because I love the way Madi is holding on to me and hiding. She wants to see the animal but is not quite sure what to do.

What you see is what you get - thats all these two big cats did was sit there still as can be hot.

Below - This was Mr. Lion number 2 - you had to walk along this really neat bridge that was built around the natural trees that were growing there. It was difficult to fit through our stroller but we managed. All through the bridge there was all these trees you had to maneouver around. It was really neat.

Below - some type of mountain goat. That large building in the back where they put on an animal show with horses, jaguar, baboons, and of course the big finale, the elephant.

Below - Not sure but in the show it said it was in the horse family???

I know its a Zebra, I was just kiding.

Below - In the building waiting for the animal show. Madi was scared going into the dark room but after 5 minutes she calmed down and her eyes got accustomed she was quite into the show and music - she loved the Equine Ballet which involved a Clysedale Horse, A Zebra, and a Miniature Pony. Notice the swelling under her eye - 2 Mosquitos got her good!

Walking past Daddy taking the pictures - Below- Madi is telling me "on elephant, on elephant!" She was quite excited about it.


You walked in this little circle for 12$ but it was worth it for the look on Madi's face.

Returning back to the platform to get off.

Madi didn't want off, she wanted to go around again.

This was the longest blog entry ever - took 3 days to upload photos and organize.. Geesh I think I will take less photos next time (doubt it she's too cute)
